Iron Man 3 & Science Center Trip

Ready for a road trip? The Computer Science Club and SAC have teamed up for you to go see Iron Man 3 in IMAX and go to the St. Louis Science Center on May 4th! Today, Sunday February 17th is the Game Server’s Birthday!

Yes, it was Two years ago today that those beautiful blue lights lit and the fans started humming. The soul of a great beast awoke within it… and all it wanted was have fun and play. So, show the server some love and jump on for some Minecraft, Counter-Strike: GO, Left 4 Dead 2, Nuclear Dawn, or Team Fortress 2 because no one should be lonely on their birthday… and the server’s only birthday wish is for you!

Cyberwarfare Range Setup Day

As mentioned in the Speaker Night on Friday, we are trying to set up a Cyberwarfare Range with old computers on a safe, closed network to develop a continuous improvement process for cyber warfare and security. Thank you all for showing up at Friday’s meeting, and thank you all for tuning in on the Google Hangout. As you know, there are two club meetings a month. One of the weeks is a Guest Speaker Night and the other is a game night.

Who would you like to see as our guest speaker in the next speaker night (March 1st)? Send an email to csclub@uis.edu with your top two people you want to see. We will choose the top three and you will vote on who will be shown at the March meeting.

Computer Science Club Meeting and Speaker this Friday at 6

This Friday will be the first Computer Science Club meeting of the semester and it will be held in UHB 2034 at 6:00 PM. Bring a snack and a friend to join us for a guest interview video. Please vote on the poll on our Facebook page to tell us who you would like to watch. Options include: Alexis Ohanian (a Co-Founder of Reddit), Eben Upton (the Founder of Raspberry Pi), and Jonathan Coulton (musician). We will also be talking about other exciting events that we have planned for the semester. Humans vs. Zombies!

If you haven’t heard, the Computer Science Club (along with Department of Residence Life, The Enclave, Japanime Springfield, and Dodge) is hosting a game of Humans vs. Zombies. The game starts off with one person designated as the original zombie and turns the humans into other zombies. HvZ will start tomorrow October 22nd at 12:01am and will end on Friday at 6:00pm with a social event at 7 in the Stars Lounge.
